Tour Summary

This cooking class takes you to an Ethiopian local home kitchen where you learn and then bake Ethiopian staple food called Injeraa, type of foam-textured pancake that comes in three different coloured varieties: white, brown and red. The dough for injera is fermented for three days before it is cooked, hence the texture and a slightly sour taste. Side by side you engage in cooking the popular Ethiopian stew known as Shiro wot (spicy puréed chickpeas). Then after you will make a coffee with freshly roasted coffee with the help of your host. Friendly and intimate class takes place in an Ethiopian home kitchen and learn to bake traditional dishes like injera and cook shiro-wot and hand-roasted coffee.

Itinerary

We will meet up at hotel/airport and give you a short briefing about the tour. Then we drive to the local home where you engage in Ethiopian food preparation and coffee ceremony. Your hosts bring you inside their home teaches you how to bake traditional Ethiopian dishes like injera, cook shirowot, followed by a coffee ceremony with freshly roasted beans. We enjoy with the food you cook and coffee you make and then say good bye to our host and proceed to Tej Bets to experience Ethiopian honey wine with locals. Finally, I will drop you off at hotel/airport.
