Entoto Natural Park Inaugurated
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and other top officials attended the inaugural ceremony of the Entoto Natural Park, which is located north of Addis Ababa.
During the inaugural ceremony on Saturday morning, Abiy expressed his gratitude to those who have contributed to the construction of the park, which is part of the Beautifying Sheger Project.
“Entoto has shown us what we can achieve utilizing the assets we possess with knowledge and perseverance,” the Prime Minister said.
“For those who worked day & night, may you be compensated by the God watching over Ethiopia,” he said. “We will not rest until the aspirations for our country in all realms are fulfilled”.
He also used the occasion to call on investors to support the ‘Dine for Nation’ program just as they did during the 5 million birr dinner organized to raise funds for the Sheger Project.
“Dine for Nation’ is a resource mobilization program aims to raise 3 billion birr for development projects in Gorgora, Koysha and Wonchi in Amhara, SNNP and Oromia regional states, respectively.
Entoto national park is equipped with various facilities including sport centers, restaurants, coffee shops, horseback riding, bike ride and football filed. These facilities have created job opportunities for many people, officials said
A statue has been erected in the park to honor healthcare workers fighting the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
